Our partner Mauricio Moreira Menezes was present as a speaker at international events held in New York.
On the 18th, Mauricio took part in the conference “Current Perspectives on Us and Brazilian Corporate Law and Capital Markets”, promoted by the Harvard Law School Brazilian Studies Association and held at the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
He contributed to the panel “Current events affecting transnational and international business”, speaking about strategic incentives to mitigate the risk of extending liability to shareholders in the event of insolvency of controlled companies operating in Brazil.
On the 19th, he took part in the event “Current Perspective in U.S. and Brazilian Securities Regulation – New Technology, RWA, and Tokenization”, held at White & Case, talking about Bill 2.925 and its impact on the Brazilian and international capital markets, especially with regard to the liability of intermediaries in takeover bids. Mauricio presented his suggestions for changes to the Bill, with a view to reducing the transaction costs that will arise from the eventual approval of this new liability regime.
